THE FIRST HALF
The first half was quite slow-paced, but there were some important moments nevertheless. Mike Quek pulled off a great save within the first five minutes, which prevented conceding an early goal which we always seem to do! About 10 minutes later, a Roger Ho run resulted in a cross that everyone seemed to miss. The ball dropped to Mike Yee but his shot was blocked and only a corner resulted. Then a through-ball found Mike Scott, which he controlled skillfully and carefully chipped the keeper from 20 yards. That goal boosted our confidence and the Wirral Chinese began to take control of the game. Another run from Roger resulted in an accurate cross which found Mike Yee. He volleyed the ball with his right foot to chip the ball over the keeper once more. We took an important lead going into the second half.

THE SECOND HALF
John was replaced in the second half by Ian, who slotted in midfield. The second half was very eventful, where we saw eight goals! The Wirral Chinese struggled to cope with the absence of John in defence and we conceded an early second half goal to make the score 2-1. But almost straight from kick-off, a through ball found Mike Yee who out-paced a defender to shoot across the keeper with his left foot. But at 3-1, the game was no-where near over. Lord Napier attacked and a cross was punched by Tango! They scored from the resulting penalty and at 3-2 the game was close. At this time Peter Yee came on to replace Tango since he felt a knock. But Mike Scott popped up with a goal which settled our nerves. A simple run and shot effort pulled off for Lord Napier to make it 4-3. But from then on the Wirral Chinese took control. Another great through ball put Mike Yee through to score and complete his hattrick! Another skillful run from Roger found Mike Yee, and his shot was forced onto the post by the keeper - luckily Mike Scott was quick enough to anticipate the rebound to slot in our sixth goal. Near the end of the match Mike Yee scored another to make it 4 for him and seven overall.

OVERALL
There were many good performances from the entire team, but the Man of the Match medal was awarded to Mike Yee for his four goals. The whole team seemed to click and lets hope we can perform like this again!
