THE FIRST HALF
The Wirral Chinese trailed one nil after only 5 minutes where the game had not even began to pan out. The first half was hectic and fast, with much of the ball being played within the midfield. Chris Allen and Lee coped well enough in the middle winning every ball and controlling the team, and we held on until half time. The only real chances in the first half fell to Mike Yee or Roger who had to quickly get the ball and take instant shots as there was no time on the ball.

THE SECOND HALF
After trailing one-nil down for the first hour, Mike Yee’s through ball to Wah set-up a well-taken equaliser. Wah was going to be taken off at that time but he scored! After the equaliser the Wirral Chinese began to grow in confidence. 15 minutes later, Mike Yee got his customary goal against the experienced side to put the Wirral Chinese two-one up. Chris Allen’s run on the right flank was finished with a shot, which was saved by the keeper. Mike Yee was in the right position to capitalise on the chance. Gary was taken off later on after being injured in a 50:50 challenge with a Lord Napier forward. Steve replaced him and slotted in at left back. It looked like we were on our way to an important win but with 5 minutes to go, a high paced bouncing ball cruelly deflected into the path of an opposing attacker who headed the ball into the net.

OVERALL
The man of the match award was given to John, who played brilliantly at the back. Other close contenders were Ian, C.Allen, Roger, Chung and Lee Tsoi.
